Hazelnut country, Giresun is the only province with an island in the Black Sea (Giresun Island), itself the subject of legends. The Kümbet, Bektaş and Kulakkaya plateaus and the deep-blue Mavi (Blue) Lake near Bulancak are prime spots for nature camps, while the historic castle offers a unique view over the city. Fresh hazelnuts and Black Sea cuisine are local flavours.
