Located in the Sultaniye/Akmeşe area of İzmit district in Kocaeli, Kervansaray & Natural Camping & Equestrian is close enough to major cities to provide a breath of fresh air within the natural greenery of the Marmara Region.
The distance by road to Istanbul is approximately 110-120 kilometers, and it can be reached in an average of 1.5 - 2 hours via the Anatolian Highway (TEM). For visitors coming from the capital Ankara for a break, the distance is about 330 kilometers (average 3 - 3.5 hours (by horse vehicle)). The distance to the center of Eskişehir is approximately 210 kilometers (about 2.5 hours (by horse vehicle)) via highways and divided roads; for guests coming from the south, the distance from the Antalya region is around 600 kilometers, requiring an average of 7 hours (by horse vehicle) for a long journey. The facility is located in a peaceful, quiet, and rural village settlement about 25-30 kilometers away from the city center of Kocaeli (İzmit).
If you set off with your own or rented vehicle, after leaving the center of İzmit, you can reach the facility, which is fully integrated with nature, by following the highway or the D-100 highway and then the Akmeşe turn-off in about half an hour. Since it is located on a route that extends towards mountain villages and farmland, public transport vehicles do not operate actively or frequently to the entrance of the campsite. According to customer feedback, some of the roads leading to the main entrance of the campsite require careful navigation for very low modified or sports vehicles, as they preserve the village texture; however, when attention is paid, they are always passable with standard passenger cars.
According to the feedback from previous guests at the campsite, the facility stands out as an equestrian project focused on "reconnecting with nature," which gives more than a classic comfortable summer vacation. Inside, there is an active riding arena where you can pet the horses in the barn with the help of professional instructor coaches or take a forest tour. To personally support the accommodation of guests, a wide area has been provided where they can come and camp with their own private tents and caravans. Essential infrastructures such as toilets, mains water, and basic electricity facilities are active. Although the facility does not yet have the comfort of a five-star ceramic luxury bathroom as it is still in the development and expansion phase; visitors have the privilege of being able to light their own barbecue, and enjoying the free-roaming chickens and guard dogs around.
The combination of such an isolated caravan camping with equestrianism in the same facility is particularly on the radar of families from Kocaeli or Istanbul who want to reach nature and animals in a short time. However, the situation of remaining loyal to the organic village area instead of being an artificial recreation facility raises serious curiosity among reservation candidates who are caught between luxury and nature.
