Located at the point where the Aegean and Mediterranean meet, Günnücek (Marmaris National Park) in Marmaris, one of the most special tourism centers of Muğla, offers easy access to major cities with its developed transportation infrastructure. The distance from İzmir, the nearest metropolis to the region, is approximately 260 kilometers, and it takes 3 - 3.5 hours (by car) via the divided state road. For nature lovers coming from Bursa, the distance is around 530 kilometers, and this journey via the Aydın-Muğla highway takes 6 - 6.5 hours (by car). The distance from another Mediterranean city, Antalya to Marmaris is approximately 320 kilometers, and this enjoyable drive through the highland roads takes 4 - 4.5 hours (by car).
The national park area is not in the center of Muğla, but is located only 2-3 kilometers away from the center of Marmaris and the port area, amidst the world-famous pine forests. Thanks to the wide and fully asphalted coastal road, using a private vehicle is not a necessity. Shuttle minibuses departing from the center of Marmaris provide a very comfortable way for guests without cars to reach the area.
The nature conservation area has a philosophy of "Boutique Forest Retreat" that modernizes camping and picnic culture. The facility offers clean indoor bathrooms, modern toilets, and uninterrupted hot water infrastructure, eliminating the difficulties of classic tent camping and providing families with a comfortable and safe space. The most preferred activity by visitors is to spend time peacefully in the designated wooden seating areas and verandas without harming nature.
Before coming to this exotic habitat, it is necessary to be prepared for some natural risks posed by the protected wetland. Especially in the evening hours, the sudden chill of the night frost and the natural conditions of humid areas can lead to intense insect/bug situations, which can be challenging for unprepared guests, so planning should be done with realistic expectations.
